Thank You! from Linda Trussell

Many, many thanks to everyone who helped and participated in the daily Lenten services and to all those who helped in preparing for (folding, organizing and participating in altar guild duties, decorating the church, cleaning the church grounds) and participating in the Holy Week and Easter Services.

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Linda

CHILDREN AND YOUTH EASTER CONCERT.  Our church children are busy at work preparing for an Easter concert to be performed during the 10:30am Easter service on March 23rd.  Our practices will continue on Sundays throughout the Lenten Season.  If you have a child that would like to participate, then please bring him or her to Atrium Room 3 on Sundays at 9:15am.  We look forward to seeing you there!  For any information regarding this event please contact Lauren Wainwright at the church office or email:

EYE NEEDS YOUR HELP TO PREPARE MEALS

In order to make Trinity's EYC program an enriching experience for our youth and young adults, please consider volunteering your time by signing up to provide a meal on Sunday night.  This will provide a wonderful opportunity for our parish and youth to get to know one another.  Whatever you can contribute would be greatly appreciated.  For more information or to sign up for a Sunday night throughout the spring semester call Lauren Wainwright at 601-818-3810 or email: lauren.wainwright@hotmail.com.

Camp Bratton Green Applications for Summer 2008 are available in the church office.  Scholarship money is available upon request.

Second Education for Ministry Group to Begin Fall 2008.

Ms. Jane Lee, a certified EFM mentor will facilitate an evening EFM group beginning in the Fall of 2008.  You can learn more about EFM at http://www.sewanee.edu/EFM/index.htm .  The EFM program runs the entire academic year (34 weeks).  Materials cost about $340.  If you are interested in this program - which incidentally is about the best course of study in Bible, Theology, and Ministry outside of seminary - please contact the church office at 601-544-5551.  Only 10 seats are available.

HOLY LEISURE a silent retreat with special guidance from licensed Spiritual Directors March 28 -30, May 2-4, August 8-10, & November 7-9.  Maybe it's a reaction to our hectic, media-driven new century, or perhaps it's just the logical progression for those who seek a life in Christ. Whatever the reason, our HOLY  LEISURE silent retreats are attracting seekers of all ages.  Be still, and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10) reminds us of the importance of quieting our minds and calming our spirits in order to hear God's presence in our lives.  Under the guidance of licensed trained Spiritual Directors, participants will be given spiritual tools that will allow the "ambient noise" of our lives to diminish and be fully present with God.  For registration information please contact The Rev. Debo Dykes, debo@dioms.org, or 601-948-5954.

Open dates for 2008 Altar Flower memorials are:

June  29

July 13

November 2

September 14 & 21

Jody Burnett's Purse

If you are interested in helping Jody Burnett while he is in seminary, you can write a check to Trinity Church and put in the envelopes provided in the pews that have Jody's name on it.  If you give cash, please indi-cate your name and address on the outside of the envelope. You do not have to put Jody's name on the memo line of your check.  Just put it in an envelope with Jody's name on it.  Contributions designated to a specific individual on your checks are not tax deductible. Jody would like to acknowledge your gifts, so we will provide him with names and addresses but not amounts.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call the church office.

I hope you find this weekly announcement bulletin from Trinity Parish, Hattiesburg helpful and informative.  It is intended to provide you with news of the parish and upcoming activities for the weekend and next week in our community.

See you in church on Sunday!
