The Parish Activities Commission will be hosting an Easter potluck brunch at Trinity following the 10:30 am service on Easter day, April 8.  The church and the Commission will provide baked ham, bread, and wine.  We ask that members of the congregation bring their favorite side dish according to the schedule below. If your LAST name begins with the letters shown, bring the kind of dish indicated.  Please bring a listing of ingredients for your dish in case someone has a food allergy.

Teach Them To Fish:

A Meeting for

Micro-Industry Mission Work

6:00 p.m

 

With the blessing of the Bishop of Honduras, we are forming a mission to teach the people of Honduras various trades and crafts that they can use to sustain themselves.  This fall, we will begin the mission teaching stained glass techniques to the village of Omoa on the north coast of Honduras.  Anyone interested in learning stained glass techniques - whether you want to go on the mission or not - please attend the meeting to learn basic techniques.  We will also discuss strategies for raising money to buy the initial supplies Contact: John DeLancey h2oeasy@aol.com 601-758-0049 (shop) 601-758-0004  (home).

Italian Renaissance Expert to Give Lecture at USM.  A specialist in the art of the Italian Renaissance, professor Mark Zucker, coordinator of the art history program at Louisiana State University, will give a free lecture on “Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper: What’s It All About?” at 7 p.m. on April 13 at Marsh Auditorium on The University of Southern Mississippi’s Hattiesburg campus. Admission is free and open to the public.

Future Events/Announcements

 

Architectural Photography Free Seminar at USM.  TheUSM Interior Design program will present a free seminar April 18 by world-renowned photographer Dennis Anderson on "The Magic of Architectural Photography" from 2-5 p.m. at the Thad Cochran Center Ballroom II.  Light refreshments will be available.  Anderson will show his work made from around the globe while demonstrating key elements of photography.

 

Bishop’s Visit, Sunday, April 22 for Baptism, Confirmation and the installation of Fr. Bill as Rector of Trinity.  There will be ONE SERVICE AT 9:30 a.m. followed with a reception in the Parish Hall.  Incense will be used at this service.

 

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY: RJ Young Company and the National Basketball Association is building a Habitat Home in Hattiesburg the month of April. Trinity will be participating on April 21st. No skills are required.  For details, please contact Ben Carmichael @ 601/705-1213 to participate.  If the 21st is not good for you and you would like to help other date are available.

 

Sunday Coffee Hour

For several months, pastries and/or breakfast breads have been available to parishioners and visitors following the 8:00 A.M. and 10:30 A.M. services.  Abbie Rogers has agreed to co-ordinate and schedule parishioners to be responsible for bringing 2 trays of their choice (approximately 40 servings) of pastries and/or snack breads on Sunday morning.  Parishioners will be scheduled for ONLY ONE Sunday during the year.  If you do not want to participate in this parish activity or if it will present a hardship for you, please notify the church office by April 13.

 

Ushers needed for the 10:15 service.  If you would like to serve on this ministry, please contact Beejee Dickson at 601-584-8378.

 

Camp Bratton-Green Summer Camp applications are available in the church office

 

NEEDED: CASSEROLES, SOUPS, BREADS

Help St. Anne’s Keep it’s freezer stocked for delivery to our ill and convalescing, the bereaved and families with new babies. Whenever preparing for your family, make extra, label with directions as needed, bring to the church office. Breads can be banana nut, date nut etc.  Thanks!!!

 

Working Together To End World Hunger .  Established in 1998, Stop Hunger Now is a 501 (c) 3 non-governmental relief organization that coordinates food and medical aid projects across the globe (www.stophungernow.org).  Volunteers will package meals on Thursday, March 29, 2007, at the Payne Center.  Packaging will take place from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.   You can volunteer for as little or as long as you want. Everyone is invited and welcome to participate.  Volunteer work is not physically taxing. This year's  event is sponsored by the MSU Graduate Educational Research Association, Kappa Delta Pi, and Recreational Sports. Call Lydia at 601.266.4579 to volunteer.
