MAY 6 IS GRAY CENTER SUNDAY.  This Sunday, May 6 is Gray Center Sunday.  The Bishop has asked all congregations to offer operational support to the Center on this day.  The vestry authorized that $250 of the otherwise undesignated plate offerings collected at both services on May 6 be given to Gray Center.  To make it easier for us to accomplish this, we ask that you write "Gray Center" on the memo line of your check and put the check in the plain white envelope in the pew rack before putting it in the offering plate.  We sincerely appreciate your support of the Gray Center.

Trinity to Sponsor Youth Missionary to Ecuador.  Marian Dickson, daughter of BeeJee and Andy Dickson, has been accepted as a Young Adult Service Corps Missionary, and will spend one year as a missionary to the people of Ecuador.  Her training from the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society of the Protestant Episcopal Church will commence in June and she will leave for Ecuador in August. 

 Marian needs two things from her Trinity church family.  The first is prayer.  Please keep her and her parents in your thoughts and prayers during the summer as they prepare to separate from one another, and for Marian as she travels to Ecuador.  Pray for her throughout the academic year while she works with the Ecuadorian people.  The second thing Marian needs is money.  She is charged with obtaining $10,000 pledged or promised by August.  This money need not be completely collected until she returns from her year of service in July, 2008.  Enclosed in this bulletin is a letter and a form that you can use to provide support for her.  I hope you will give generously, and please remember her in your prayers.

 

Professional Video to be made in Church on Pentecost, May 27.  At its March meeting, the vestry granted permission for a professional videographer to be present in church during a worship service on one Sunday.  This will take place on Pentecost Sunday, May 27.   Plans are still tentative, but the videographer will likely begin recording from a hidden location near the organ, and then during the service, he will quietly and carefully reposition himself near the back of the church.  He has been instructed to be as unobtrusive as possible.  We beg your indulgence and your cooperation for this one-time event. In addition, the videographer will record youth activities on a Wednesday evening during late April or early May so that our youth program will be highlighted as well.  If you have any questions or comments about this, please call Bill at church or on his cell phone (601-329-3538), or email him at wgstroop@earthlink.net.

 

Jody Burnett’s Purse If you are interested in helping Jody Burnett while he is in seminary, you can write a check to Trinity Church and put in the envelopes provided in the pews that has Jody’s name on it.  If you give cash, please indicate your name and address on the outside of the envelope. You do not have to put Jody’s name on the memo line of your check.  Just put it in the envelope with Jody’s name on it.  Contributions designated to specific individuals on your checks are not tax deductible. Jody would like to acknowledge your gifts, so we will provide him with names and addresses but not amounts.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call the church office.

Banns of Marriage.  Commodore Craig Dearman and Kimberly Ann Castle are to be wed at Trinity Church on May 12, 2007.  It was their wish that Banns of Marriage be published.  Therefore, if any of you know any just cause why they may not be joined together in Holy Matrimony, you are bidden to declare it.  This is the third and final time of asking.
