Adult Forum, 9:15 am:  “Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome:  Signs and Symptoms,” Part 1 of 3 a three part series on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  PTSD is often though of as a problem of military personnel.  But it is not.  People who have experienced any kind of trauma may have PTSD.  All presentations by The Rev. Maj. Peter Bauer.

Trinity Church is featured in Historic Churches of Mississippi.  Sherry Pace has paid photographic tribute to religious architecture in Mississippi in her new book. She will be signing books at Main Street Books, 210 Main Street on June 28 from 5-7 p.m.

Future Events/Announcements

 

Trinity to Sponsor Youth Missionary to Ecuador Marian Dickson, daughter of Beejee and Andy Dickson, has been accepted as a Young Adult Service Corps Missionary with the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society of the Protestant Episcopal Church.  She leaves for Ecuador in August. Please keep her and her parents in your thoughts and prayers.  Marian needs to obtain $10,000 pledged or promised by July 29.  This money need not be completely collected until she returns from her year of service in July 2008.  There is a form in this bulletin for your use in making a donation.

 

Jody Burnett’s Purse. If you are interested in helping Jody Burnett while he is in seminary, you can write a check to Trinity Church and put in the envelopes provided in the pews that have Jody’s name on it.  If you give cash, please indicate your name and address on the outside of the envelope. You do not have to put Jody’s name on the memo line of your check.  Just put it in the envelope with Jody’s name on it.  Contributions designated to specific individuals on your checks are not tax deductible. Jody would like to acknowledge your gifts, so we will provide him with names and addresses but not amounts.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call the church office.

 

Camp Bratton-Green Summer Camp applications are available in the church office

 

Abbie Rogers Civitan Camp needs bed sheets (all sizes) for their summer camp. They will be making ponchos. Items may be brought to the church office.

 

NEEDED: CASSEROLES, SOUPS, BREADS:   Help St. Anne’s keep its freezer stocked for delivery to our ill and convalescing, the bereaved and families with new babies. Whenever preparing for your family, make extra, label with directions as needed, bring to the church office. Breads can be banana nut, date nut etc.  Thanks!!!

 

Bishop’s BBQ Saturday, August 11 at the Gray Center-. gates will open at 10 and food will be served at 11:30. Come enjoy live music, picnic area/tent contest, silent and live auctions with proceeds benefiting Gray Center, a Duncan Booth, children’s carnival, t-shirts & cups, and fellowship.  Advances tickets $10 adults, $5 for kids (3-12), plus a family discount - $30 for WHOLE family.  There will be a silent and a live auction, and donations for those auctions are being sought right now.  Also, we will be taking the church van, so if you want a seat, please call the office.

 

  

Bill and Sunshine to Host Second “Let’s Get Acquainted” Open House.  We really want to get to know every member of Trinity parish, and we want you to get to know us better too.  To help do that we are hosting a series of “Getting to Know You” open houses at our home from 5 to 6:30 p.m. one Sunday afternoon each month through November.  Light refreshments and beverages will be provided.  Our intention is to provide time and space where we can begin to become more acquainted with each other in a relaxed, cordial atmosphere.  You and your family are invited to come to our home on the Sundays indicated in the table below.  Children are especially welcome.  We have gotten permission from Sacred Heart Church for you to park in their parking lot, which is immediately opposite our house, on the corner of Southern and Walnut. There is no need to RSVP, as we will be ready for you.  Just come on by and enjoy some music, conversation, food and refreshment.
