 The Rt. Rev. Duncan M. Gray, III will perform his ecclesiastical visit to Trinity Parish on Sunday, October 26. He will celebrate and preach at both services. This is the same day as the Fall Festival. A reception for the Bishop will take place after the 10:30 am service. More details of the Bishop's visit will be forthcoming as his plans solidify. |

| EYC, NURSERY, SUNDAY SCHOOL, AND YOUTH NEWS
- Getting to Know You Club for Children Ages 5-10. Lesley Hutt and Ana Laura Brett are starting a new club for 5-10 year-olds to help them become familiar with each other and to make friends. The club will meet every six weeks starting Friday 10/17 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Pizza, drinks, and popcorn will be served, and a movie will be shown. - Volunteers needed each Sunday to assist Sarah in the Nursery. We need to always have two adults present with our children in their programs. We hope to get enough volunteers that you will only have to serve once every 2 to 3 months. If you are interested in helping, please call the church office (601-544-5551). We are also looking for a paid substitute for Sarah on Sunday morning when she needs to be off.

NEW CONSTRUCTION FUND ESTABLISHED
The vestry approved the creation of a "New Construction Fund" to receive donations that will be used for the construction of new facilities and structures on our Church campus. One project - a porte cochère (covered driveway) over the alley - is presently under consideration. Other projects are likely to be forthcoming as we engage in long-range planning. If you wish to donate funds for new construction projects on our campus, simply write a check to "Trinity Episcopal Church" and put "New Construction Fund" on the memo line.

Diocesan Gift Giving Policies. The Diocese has adopted a policy to govern gift giving within the Diocese of Mississippi. This policy will cover all gifts of cash, securities, real estate, other properties, and planned gifts. CHURCH SECURITY CODES TO CHANGE. On October 15, we will change the security codes on the key pads as you enter the church, educational building, and offices. If you have a key to the building, please come by the church office before October 15 to get the new codes.
PRAYING IN COLOR, November 7th & 8th with special guest Sybil MacBeth, author, educator, and dancer. "A new prayer form gives God an invitation and a new door to penetrate the locked cells of our hearts and minds," explains Sybil MacBeth. For many of us, using only words to pray reduces God by the limits of our finite words. Sybil insists that participants of this unique conference event require NO skill for drawing. Sybil says, herself, "I cannot draw a cat! Or a dog. Or anything else for that matter." This conference is about color and a new experience in worship. Keep in mind, Sybil says, "Whether you are a visual or kinesthetic learner, a distractible or impatient soul, a word-weary pray-er or just a person looking for a new way to pray, I hope you will find this practice helpful." Food Sale November 15. Cooking days begin Tuesday, October 7 at 9:00 am in our church kitchen and will continue every Tuesday morning in October. As you bake or can or make freezable food, please remember our food sale and put aside some of your food for our November sale. There is freezer space available at the church. Thank you for all you do to make our church profitable and our community well fed. Your suggestions and food stuffs are welcome!
BOOK SALE NOVENBER 15. At the same time as the Food Sale, the Daughters of the King will hold a book sale. They need you to look through your libraries for gently used books - fiction and non-fiction (including travel, sports, cook books, children's books, etc.). Please, no textbooks, encyclopedias, or Reader's Digest Condensed books. Books can be brought to the church office. Books will sell for $1 for hardback and 50 cents for paperback. Profits will benefit the Church Periodical Club which in turn supports seminarians in purchasing their textbooks. For details, call Barbara Parker at 601-264-6557.

HOLY LEISURE a silent retreat with special guidance from licensed Spiritual Directors November 7-9. Maybe it's a reaction to our hectic, media-driven new century, or perhaps it's just the logical progression for those who seek a life in Christ. Whatever the reason, our HOLY LEISURE silent retreats are attracting seekers of all ages. Be still, and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10) reminds us of the importance of quieting our minds and calming our spirits in order to hear God's presence in our lives. Under the guidance of licensed trained Spiritual Directors, participants will be given spiritual tools that will allow the "ambient noise" of our lives to diminish and be fully present with God. Ride Needed to Church. One of our parishioners lives at the Pine Meadows Center adjacent to Loyalton on Fox Chase, just off 28th about half way between the medical center and Lincoln Road. She wants to attend the 10:30 am Sunday service and needs a ride to and from church. If you can provide transportation for her, please call Fr. Bill at 601-329-3538.

TEACH THEM TO FISH MINISTRY
Support the "Teach Them to Fish" Honduran Mission. About a year and a half ago John DeLancy and Chris Tardy started a microindustry mission to Omoa, Honduras. With the blessings of the Bishops of Honduras and Mississippi, they have met weekly to plan teaching stained glass methods to the ladies of Omoa. The main goal of the mission is to teach a skill that can provide an income for families that want to improve themselves and their communities. John has already made two mission trips to Omoa and needs to go back at periodic intervals to continue this ministry. They need your financial support to fund this missionary work. Please make your checks payable to Trinity Church, and appropriately mark the envelopes that are provided in the pews and put them in the collection basket or mail them to the church. The Trinity Episcopal Church Parish Emergency Relief Fund has been set up to help Mary Deane McInnis with her medical expenses. If you would like to contribute to this fund, please make checks payable to Trinity Emergency Relief Fund. Use the envelopes provided in the pews to designate that the contribution is for Mary Deane. She would like to acknowledge your gifts, so we will provide her with names and addresses but not amounts.

If you are interested in helping Jody Burnett while he is in seminary, you can write a check to Trinity Church, appropriately mark the envelopes that are provided in the pews and put them the collection basket or mail them to the church. If you give cash, please indicate your name and address on the outside of the envelope. You do not have to put Jody's name on the memo line of your checkbecause contributions designated to a specific individual on your checks are not tax deductible.
